On July 11, 2019, as summer vacation approached, the English Speech Contest of 1 + 3 Department was held in the lecture hall. In addition to the students and competitors in the Department, there were also Mrs.Tang Jiaxing, Mrs. Yang Guixia, Mrs. Cao Jingshuang, Mrs. Li Lihang and Mr. Stevin, the foreign teacher. The speech contest was presided over by two students, Wang Leyao and Cao Shuai. The contestants prepared their own speeches according to the topics provided. All of them showed their enthusiasm for active participation.     

 Before the start of the competition, each player made sufficient preparations, and when waiting for the contest, they showed full confidence. After the students and guests entered the competition in an orderly manner, the competition was announced.After the introduction of the host, Yang Jiahui, as the first contestant, stood on the stage to give a speech on the theme of “colors of life”. After the speech, the teachers randomly asked questions to the contestants, and scored the contestants according to their expression, posture and content.   In the course of the competition, each contestant performed very well. Every student was attracted by their wonderful speech and listened very carefully and attentively.

After nearly an hour of fierce competition, a total of 2 first prizes, 4 second prizes and 9 third prizes were awarded. Finally, with warm applause, the contest came into the end. The teacher and the award-winning students took a group photo together.

After this activity, the students said that their oral ability was improved, and they had more courage to show themselves, hoping to participate in such meaningful activities again in the future. 

7月11日，首师大附中永定分校1+3学部英语演讲比赛在报告厅举行。到场的有唐佳兴老师、杨桂霞老师、曹静霜老师、李莉航老师以及外教Steven先生。本次演讲比赛由王乐瑶和曹帅两名同学主持。

本次比赛由主题演讲、即兴问答两个环节组成，每人时间均为两分钟。经过前期的海选阶段，共有15名学生入围决赛。

 在比赛开始前，每位选手都做了充足的准备，他们体现的信心满满。在同杨佳慧同学作为第一位选手登台，带来以“生命的色彩”为主题的演讲。演讲完毕后，各位老师依次对选手随机提出问题，并根据表达、体态、内容等方面对选手进行打分。    比赛过程中，每位选手都表现得十分出色，流利的口语，得体的身体语势，充分展现了同学们较强的语言应用及临场应变能力。在场的每位同学都被他们精彩的演讲所吸引，听得十分认真专注。活动后，同学们都表示，自己的口语能力得到了提升，也更有勇气去展示自我，希望以后能够再次参与这样有意义的活动。

经过近一个小时的激烈角逐，共评出一等奖2名、二等奖4名、三等奖9名。老师为获奖学生颁发获奖证书奖品并一起合影留念。外教Steven在点评中对参赛选手的精彩表现赞叹不已。比赛结束后，1+3学部唐佳兴主任高度赞扬全体参赛选手的积极参与热情和努力拼搏的精神，对他们取得的成绩给予祝贺和肯定。

本次活动在学校领导和高中英语教研组的大力支持下成功举办，学生们的积极参与，为自己搭建了展现自我，超越自我的舞台。同学们的出色表现，标志着我校创新人才培养模式进入新的阶段。
